Donald Trump picks Oprah Winfrey for Us vice president

After announcing on Tuesday that he’s running for the Republican presidential nomination, real estate mogul Donald Trump, wants talk show host Oprah Winfrey to be his running mate in the race for the White House.
“I think Oprah would be great. I’d love to have Oprah,” Trump told ABC’s George Stephanopoulos. “I think we’d win easily, actually.”

Trump had also mentioned Winfrey as a possible running mate in 1999.

Winfrey said in 1999 that she wasn’t interested in the job, and it’s likely she’d say the same thing this time around. When Winfrey endorsed President Obama’s 2008 presidential campaign, it was her first ever political endorsement.

She endorsed Mr. Obama in 2012 but declined to actively campaign for him as she had in the previous race.

Trump’s announcement that he would consider running with Winfrey is one of the least awkward things he’s said since announcing his candidacy on 16 June in New York City. The 69-year-old had a plethora of interesting comments during his announcement speech.

“When Mexico sends its people, they’re not sending their best,” Trump said about immigration. “They’re not sending you. They’re not sending you. They’re sending people that have lots of problems and they’re bringing those problems with us. They’re bringing drugs, they’re bringing crime, they’re rapists, and some, I assume, are good people.”

Trump also had no issue talking about his wealth, saying he is “really rich” and he will not need to get donors for his campaign.

Oprah has yet to comment on Trump’s comments regarding their partnership in the presidential race.
