Fifteen Boko Haram members killed and twenty captured by (NDSF)

Fifteen Boko Haram members were killed and 20 arrested by the Nigerien Defense and Security Forces (FDS) during the hostile encounter between June 18 to 23 in Niger’s Diffa region close to the Nigerian border.

A source said on Wednesday that at the time in which  the attack was carried out on June 17 in Niger’s Gueskerou commune by the Islamist sect, which killed 38 civilians, FDS launched ground and air operations in the area.

The spokesman for Niger’s Defense Ministry, Moustapha Ledru, said 15 terrorists had been killed, 20 others captured, while one armoured vehicle recovered and 20 motorcycles destroyed during the operation

No report of injured army,  the defense ministry’s spokesman said I his statement.

The statement quoted that Niger’s National Defense Minister, Karidjo Mahamadou, sending appraisal to the FDS for the brilliant operation carried out against the terrorists he also  encouraged them to continue with the fight to restore peace and security.
