UNPAID SALARIES: governors to meet Buhari next week

Nigerian state Governors will hold talks with President Muhammadu Buhari next week on how to revive the country's ailing economy.

Chairman of the Nigeria Governors' Forum (NGF), Abdulaziz Yari said the meeting is crucial as many of the state government are yet to pay their workers.

“You will agree with me that civil servants in some of the federal agencies have for the past four months not gotten their salaries, why? Because the federal government cannot do it because of the dwindling of the economy,” he said.

Yari also pledged that the NGF will cooperate with the new leadership of the National Assembly.
