Securities in church defuse two bomb in Jos

A week after the twin bomb blasts erupted in Jos, the Plateau state capital, another explosion occurred Sunday morning in the premised of Evangelical Church Winning All, ECWA in Tudun Wada area of Jos North Local Government Council
The incident occurred at about 9am, the State Police Public Relations Officer, PPRO, DSP Emmanuel Abuh confirmed adding no live was lost though worshipers narrowly escaped death by the whiskers as another explosive was detected and evacuated in the Church premises.
The church located at Angwan Yashi, Tudun Wada, near the Federal Secretariat in Jos witnessed the incident barely a week after the twin explosion that killed over 50 persons at a restaurant along Bauchi Road and Yan Taya Mosque in Jos.
Plateau State Police Public Relations Officer DSP Emmanuel Abuh who confirmed the explosion said the blast occurred as the result of IED planted in the premises of the church but no life was lost.
According to him, “There was an incident at ECWA Tudun Wada but no life was lost, another IED planted at the premises was detected and evacuated, security is heightened and the situation is under control.”
He urged residents to be at alert and report any suspicious object or movement of persons to the nearby security agency.
A witness, Evelyn Usman said one explosive exploded in a toilet in the church but the church security operatives controlled the crowd and combed the premises, he said they discovered another one before it exploded and it was probably thrown across the fence.
The incident and heavy downpour in the city did not deter churches from having services.
The STF spokesperson explained that the one in the toilet was defused and taken away by security agents,
while the other was controlled before it exploded.
He said “there is no casualty and the place has been cleaned up by our security men.
“Church service is still in session as I speak to you,’’ he said.
