Man who faked coma for two years to avoid trial was spotted shopping in Tesco

A con artist who pretended to be a quadriplegic as he tried to evade claims he ripped off a neighbour has admitted perverting the course of justice with his wife.

Shameless Alan Knight also claimed he had been in a coma as he attempted to evade justice.

The 47-year-old and his wife Helen, 34, both admitted committing acts to falsely represent him as being medically unfit to stand trial.

According to Wales Online , Knight, from Swansea, was jailed last year after it was discovered he had conned his frail neighbour out of more than £40,000 by pretending to be ill.

But police managed to get CCTV evidence of him shopping in Tesco and driving a holiday caravan across the Severn Bridge, apparently in good health.
